You’ve booked your appointment at Laine London and you’re counting down the days until you try on our gorgeous gowns—but the question is, what do you bring to your appointment? Here's are 5 tips that will ensure you have a successful day of wedding dress shopping.
1. Inspiration.
Bring along wedding dress inspiration to your appointment. When you book your consultation at Laine London, you'll have the opportunity to share your personal Pinterest board with us, which will help our stylist pre-select some fab dresses for you to try on! Not sure what you’re dress style is? No worries! Telling us about your venue, decoration or wedding theme, can help your personal stylist lead you in the right direction.
2. Proper undergarments.
While shapewear and the perfect bra aren’t always necessary, feeling and looking your best will ultimately help you feel more confident to find the dress of your dreams. We suggest bringing along or wearing a supportive nude strapless or convertible bra, seamless nude underwear, as well as any shapewear you’d like to wear under your dress. Prefer a dress that allows you to go braless? No problemo! You’re more than welcome to forgo a bra if you don’t plan to wear one on your wedding day. Most of our dresses have the structure to support you without one.
3. Hair ties & clips.
Don't let your hair obstruct your view of the dresses you’ll be trying on. Pulling your hair up with a hair tie or clip will also help you envision your wedding day look if you choose to wear an updo. *If you forget your hair tie or clips, don't panic. We got you covered!
4. Wedding day shoes.
Make sure you bring along the shoes you will be wearing with your dress on your big day. If you haven't made a decision yet on your shoes, no worries! Bring along similar-looking ones that are the same height as you will be wearing with your dress (think heels vs. flats).
5. Your squad.
Bridal appointments go smoothest if you limit the number of guests that come along with you. In this case, less is more! Grab your 2-3 closest friends/family members and prepare for an intimate experience that includes:
- A private consultation with a stylist and your nearest and dearest (no other bride present)
- Champagne and light refreshments (full 1.5 hr appointments only)
- Customized playlist based on your music preferences (full 1.5 hr appointments only)
